Last Night:
Tonye Jekiri went down with a concussion six minutes into the game, and Miami was already without the services of Angel Rodriguez. It didn't matter. Despite digging themselves an 11-point hole in the first half, Miami managed to come back and hold off Temple to head to Thursday's NIT Championship game.
They'll be joined by Stanford, who blew a 21-point first-half lead -- which started with a game-opening 15-0 run -- but were able to hold off Old Dominion, who only held a share of the lead for three minutes in the middle of the second half. Chaisson Randle eclipsed Stanford's single-season scoring record in the win.
D.J. Balentine is still on fire. For the fourth game in a row, and the fifth in his last six, Balentine scored over 20 points for Evansville, who cruised to victory over UT-Martin. The Purple Aces will now get the chance, on their home court, to win their first national post-season championship since moving to Division I in 1977.
Sadly, they won't be taking the court against MURICA'S TEAM. The NJIT Highlanders have finally been sent home. NJIT led by 12 points early in the second half, then collapsed against Northern Arizona's press. The Lumberjacks were assassins from the stripe in the closing minute, going 6-6 to salt away the win. NAU will travel to Evansville on Thursday for the CIT final. Results, green linked recaps (as usual) courtesy our friends around the SB Nation college network.
