So, let's go Hornets?

Last Night:

Slow night, of course, but not without incident. And we're not talking about the shenanigans in Manhattan.

Miami and Stanford are headed for Madison Square Garden after winning their respective NIT regional finals. The Hurricans fought back from an 18-point second-half deficit to upset Richmond, while Stanford won their nerd fight with Vanderbilt.

And in Kansas City, a team which didn't even exist 20 months ago captured the NAIA Division I men's championship. Dalton State trounced Westmont to scale the heights, with Jordan Bowling being named tournament MVP. Congratulations to Tony Ingle, very familiar to anyone who ever followed The Mid-Majority, on bouncing back from the end of his tenure at Kennesaw State and immediately building a program that transcended simply being respectable and went straight to outstanding.

Your results; as usual, green linked recaps courtesy our friends around the SB Nation college network.

Today:

The other two NIT quarterfinals occupy the evening, along with both CBI semifinals and the first CIT quarter (we'll have one of those per night until the weekend). Through the day, you can also enjoy the NCAA D-II men's Elite Eight, where we don't have any obvious rooting interest but we're sort of pulling for recent NAIA transplants Azusa Pacific. Yesterday:

The second round of the WNIT is finally over. West Virginia easily advanced over Hampton, while Duquesne survived losing a double-digit lead in the second half, then got saved by a ref's whistle; Richmond's Micaela Parson drove for what would have been the winning layup with only 0.7 seconds left, but got called for a charge.

The Oklahoma City Stars are repeat NAIA Division I champions after easily handling Campbellsville in Independence last night. Not only is it a repeat, it's the third title in four years for the Stars, and their eighth title ever. OCU's Yvonte Neal was named tournament MVP.

The Division II Elite Eight happened, too. California (PA) and Limestone felt the tension, while Emporia State and Cal Baptist cruised to easy wins. As much as it pains us, we'll have to ride the Hornet bandwagon this week. Results:
