Oh, god, just shut up about Dayton already.

Can UAB get to the Sweet Sixteen? Or Georgia State?

Yesterday:

Chalk, at least until you went to sleep, when Dayton finally broke the stranglehold by knocking off Providence. There were a couple of close calls; Cal-Irvine came oh so close to dispatching Louisville, and Valparaiso almost unseated Maryland. But no other game further from the center than 7-10 was really close, and in all it was a very long day for folks looking for thrills.

Last night's results, with green linked recaps courtesy our friends around the SB Nation college network.

Today:

The proceedings get underway with the 14-11 game between UAB and UCLA, but the rest of the day will mostly see blue bloods trying to hold serve. Xavier-Georgia State could be interesting, as the only other game involving no teams seeded fourth or higher. Arkansas-North Carolina looks to be the highlight of the evening, while Notre Dame and Butler battle for supremacy over Indiana.

Also, early in the morning Alabama visits Miami in the NIT, and the CIT second round gets under way. Your schedule:

Yesterday:

There were more upsets in the women's Division I tournament than in the men's yesterday, which is pretty much an unheard of thing. None of them, however, were of the "scrappy mid-major knocks off big-time program" variety; three of the four upsets were all-Power Six matchups, and the fourth saw 11th seed Gonzaga knock off George Washington.

The first round of the WNIT concluded as well, with the final game of the night being an overtime thriller in Moraga as Saint Mary's knocked off Hawai'i. The results:

Once again, all NCAA games are on ESPN2 regionally, ESPN3 nationally -- with one exception, as UConn's inevitable demolition of Saint Francis (NY) will be seen nationally on the Deuce. There's a single WBI game on the slate as well.
