Open Game Thread: Kansas at Kansas State

Let's get this over with. "By winning" would be good, too.

That's some grade-A premature balding there.

(8) Kansas (22-5, 11-3 Big 12) at Kansas State (12-11, 5-5 Big 12)

This is where we lay out the uncomfortable truth: the Wildcats actually have to win tonight. If they don't, the only way to a winning season is to reach the Big 12 Tournament semifinals. Contemplate that horror and tremble.

The expected starting five for the Cats averages 37 points per game. Maybe it's time to discuss the benefits of the motion offense. On paper, this game just isn't winnable, but Kansas has not played as well as you'd think. Further, they're at least saying all the right things: this is a tough game, Bramlage is a tough place to play, K-State will be charged up tonight... well, that all may be true. But it would be disingenuous to argue that a Wildcat win tonight would be anything other than shocking.

But we'll hope. Go Cats!
