Open Game Thread: Kansas State at Baylor

Expect a rain of threes today, if the expected starting five holds.

Yes, officer, this is definitely the shooter.

Remember that short period on Wednesday when K-State looked like a competent basketball team? It was pretty brief. You may have missed it.

You may get to see a lot more of that this afternoon. Nothing is set in stone, but the official pre-game notes indicate that the starting backcourt will be Jevon Thomas and Tre Harris. I mean, when nothing else is working, it's time to think out of the box.

The Cats are looking to snap a five-game road losing streak. They're also trying to avoid falling two games below .500, which is sort of important because the last time they were two games below .500 was at the end of the 2002-03 season. And given the remaining schedule, a loss today might well ensure the first losing season in Manhattan since then. Yes, even Jim Wooldridge had three non-losing seasons before he was shown the door.

Morale is at a low, but we can still rally. Besides, in just two days the Wildcats get to host That School Down the River. Time to get hyped.

Go Cats!
