This evening's festivities aren't quite as rife with big storylines as the Orange Bowl, but it's still a Really Big Deal. And once it's over, we'll know who's playing who on January 11 for the second College Football Playoff Championship.

The game: The third-ranked Michigan State Spartans take on the second-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. This is only the second meeting between the two schools. Alabama blasted the Spartans in their previous meeting, a 49-7 win in the 2011 Capital One Bowl. It's Sparty's second trip to the Cotton Bowl, after their 42-41 win over Baylor in last year's edition. Alabama has played in the Cotton Bowl seven times previously, with a 3-4 record in those contests. Their most recent visit was following the 2005 season, when they defeated Texas Tech 13-10.

Odds: Alabama is a 10-point favorite. The over/under is at 64, indicating a 37-27 Tide victory.

Television: ESPN at 7pm CT with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Heather Cox, and Tom Rinaldi.

Radio: ESPN Radio affiliates, with Brad Sham, Danny Kanell, and Ian Fitzsimmons. This feed will also be carried on Sirius 80/XM 80.

Online: Video streaming via WatchESPN. Also available on WatchESPN: a Spidercam feed, Spanish-language broadcast, and both the Michigan State and Alabama radio feeds.
