It's really the only good thing about Thursday games, isn't it? On Saturday, you can kick back with the remote and just flop around the TV dial to your heart's content. We've got you covered, football addict.
Friday night's oeuvre was somewhat tarnished by Temple's heartbreaking loss to Notre Dame last week, but the Owls are still the highlight of Friday night's action. They're up against an uninspiring CUSA offering and an Ivy game that will be a rout. Later, BYU takes on San Jose State in a game that may be more relevant to the Spartans than the Cougars.
Saturday's early block features Duke at North Carolina, along with some other games which aren't quite up to that level but could still make fun diversions: Notre Dame/Pitt and Penn State/Northwestern, plus the ridiculous display we'll probably see in Morgantown.
The afternoon flight centers around Florida State/Clemson and TCU/Oklahoma State, two games between which you'll absolutely want to devote attention. But there's another other nuggets of gold in the mid-afternoon: Cincinnati at Houston is vitally important not only for Houston but also for Memphis.
As you slide into the dinner hour, Memphis and Navy briefly take center stage, with a dose of schadenfreude on the side in Lincoln. But before halftime of those games rolls around, it'll be time for kickoff in Tuscaloosa as the Tide host the Tigers in a game fraught with playoff implications.
The evening closes with a pair of Pac-12 contests, neither of which is critically important. But it's still a soothing denouement to your football weekend, right?
As always, the below schedule includes all FBS games, and all lower-division contests airing on cable networks generally available in sports packs or on ESPN3. The words under the network logos are your streaming links, where available. Happy footballing!
