Last week was pretty static in the Bring On The Cats Top 25 Poll, especially at the top. Baylor dropped five spots after its first loss ever in McLane Stadium, but that was the only significant change in the top 13 of the poll.
Baylor's loss, naturally, was Oklahoma's gain as the Sooners rose four spots, as did Houston after its near-miss win over division rival Memphis to claim temporary Group of Five supremacy. (Until Navy comes to town, that is.)
The BOTC voters were less reactionary than the College Football Playoff Selection Committee, seeing as they elected to leave TCU's rank unchanged after a win in which the starting quarterback was injured. (No. 18? Really?)
North Carolina took advantage of the mid-level chaos last week to jump to its more rightful spot. Apparently, it took other teams losing for some voters to realize the Tar Heels have ripped off nine straight, albeit against bad teams.
Stanford, LSU, Utah, Memphis and Temple all were big droppers after ugly and/or heartbreaking losses. And somehow, UCLA still is clinging on to life here despite every other poll giving the Bruins up for dead. Go figure.
