Halftime: Oklahoma 35, Kansas State quit

Donors are threatening to cancel pledges. This isn't a joke.

This, the kickoff return after OU's first touchdown, has been the best play of the game for K-State.

Nothing has gone right for Kansas State this afternoon, and the result so far is that the Wildcats are in danger of suffering their worst loss since before the first time Bill Snyder coached a bowl game. Oklahoma leads 35-0, Joe Hubener has been benched, and y'all can probably look forward to an appearance in This Week in Schadenfreude.

Some stats, designed to make you vomit:

  • Total Offense: Oklahoma 309, K-State 80
  • Rushing: OU 18/74, K-State 18/41
  • Passing: OU 18-21/235, 5 TD/0 INT; K-State 4-13/39, 0 TD/2 INT

The only bright spots? Duke Shelley's really good, and K-State sacked Baker Mayfield three times.

Oh, and Elijah Lee got hurt, although we don't know if it's serious at all yet.

Against an opponent whose entire routine was destroyed yesterday, this team came out unprepared and listless. You can see the body language; they're cooked. Nobody would really blame anyone for switching to the Royals game.

I wish I could.
