Darreyl Patterson (b. Aug. 6, 1995) is a promising young cornerback who almost certainly will redshirt after apparently nearly leaving the team early in August (if a certain tweet at that time can be believed).

Patterson played for Lawton High School under head coach Randy Breeze. He was regarded as the top cornerback prospect in the state of Oklahoma by Scout.com and the seventh-best player overall in the state by Rivals.com.

He led the Wolverines to an 11-2 record and a Class 6A-II runner-up finish as he made 21 tackles and two interceptions in limited time on defense, leading to his being ranked No. 8 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30.

Patterson also earned 2014 all-state honors as a defensive back from The Oklahoman, while he rushed for 2,071 yards and 20 touchdowns en route to being named to the American Family Insurance All-USA Oklahoma Team.
