64 DAYS TO KICKOFF: Aaron Bennett

In which BracketCat counts down the 64th day until kickoff with a profile of offensive lineman Aaron Bennett.

Andy Eby wore No. 64 for Kansas State back around the turn of the century. So does senior tackle Aaron Bennett, but don't expect him to line up at center ever.

Aaron London Bennett (b. Sept. 17, 1992) is a former community college offensive lineman who has continued to develop since arriving in Manhattan prior to 2013. He will compete for playing time at one of the tackle positions.

After redshirting in 2013, Bennett saw action in six games last season, playing as the backup right tackle (and briefly left tackle) against Stephen F. Austin, UTEP, Oklahoma State, TCU, Kansas and UCLA.

Bennett was an extremely late addition to the 2013 roster — we didn't even know he was coming to K-State until July 18 of that year, when GoPowercat.com reported his unusual situation and brief commitment to Texas Tech.

He helped to pace Riverside College to a 9-2 record in 2012 and a victory over LA Harbor in the Golden State Bowl.

Bennett signed with Texas Tech out of JUCO two years ago and was set to be a Red Raider. But somehow, a bunch of his credits didn't transfer correctly and Tech dropped him like a hot potato.

Because his decision to "transfer" from Tech didn't occur until after National Signing Day, Bennett had to redshirt.
