Kenneth Greggory "Trey" Dishon III (b. May 18, 1997) is a defensive tackle who signed in the 2015 class and will wear No. 99. Although he is big enough to play this season as a true freshman, I still expect him to redshirt.
A four-year letter-winner for Horton High School under head coach Nick Dowell, Dishon helped to lead the Chargers to a 7-2 record and an appearance in the state playoffs.
He was an All-Kansas Class 3A selection by The Topeka Capital-Journal and The Wichita Eagle; was honorable-mention all-state in 2013; and earned first-team all-league honors as a defensive lineman, tight end and kicker.
Dishon was selected to play in the 2015 Kansas Shrine Bowl. He also lettered in basketball, earning all-state honors; track and field; and powerlifting, winning the 2013 Class 3A championship for the 242-pound weight class.
One recruiting analyst at GoPowercat.com likes Dishon's potential:
Trey Dishon is a great combination of size and speed,and his powerlifting background would indicate that he has the type of explosion that could help him as an interior defensive lineman.
Dishon was overlooked by major colleges and was set to commit to Northwest Missouri State of the MIAA. His only other offers were from Pittsburg State, a NAIA school and a junior college. But K-State really liked his versatility:
An interior defensive lineman first and foremost, the Wildcats anticipate the commit filling in as a three-technique most often. Although considering his 4.8 speed (last timed as a sophomore), Dishon says the coaches are already discussing the possibilities of sliding him around from fullback, to tight end, and even as a stand-up pass rusher if such an occasion were to present itself at any of the spots. ...
Gunning for state power lifting records this March, Dishon already holds a near 400-pound power clean, 550-pound squat, and 375-pound bench press... and those numbers haven't been tested since this past summer.
