Reid August Najvar (b. July 26, 1994) is a physical player who saw action as a reserve offensive lineman in 2014.

After seeing action in two games, playing against UTEP and Oklahoma State, Najvar now will compete for more playing time as a sophomore. He has switched from right tackle to left guard and now to center.

Najvar started at center for the Purple team in the spring game, but took equivalent snaps to Dalton Risner. That projects to be quite a battle through fall camp, although I have Risner as the eventual starter.

A first-team all-district pick and captain as a senior at Klein Oak High School under David Smith, Najvar was named to the 2012 preseason All-Greater Houston first team and The Houston Chronicle's 2012 Top 100 football recruits.

His brother, Jordan Najvar, played tight end at Baylor for four years after redshirting the 2009 season at Stanford and was signed as a rookie free agent by the Dallas Cowboys following the 2014 NFL Draft.
