#94 C.J. Reese |
Position: Defensive Tackle Previous College: None Projection: Third-String Status: On Scholarship |
C.J. Reese (b. May 26, 1996) is a tough defender who used a redshirt season to grow and develop. After starting for the White defense in the spring game, he will compete for playing time along the defensive front in 2015.
Reese was one of our earlier commitments in the class of 2014. Although he was projected by Rivals to play strongside defensive end, he actually was targeted by our coaches as a defensive tackle.
A three-year letter-winner for the Mavericks under head coach Jim Streety, Reese helped to lead James Madison High School to a combined 31-13 record during his three-year prep career, with state semifinal appearances during both his sophomore and senior campaigns.
Reese earned second-team All-District 2 6-5A honors as both a junior and senior, was rated the nation's 44th-best defensive tackle by Scout.com, and was selected to play in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game.
Although a two-star prospect on Rivals, Reese had heavy interest from Colorado, Nevada and SMU, among others.
