Kansas State TOP RANKED!

...in money raised in 2015 for sports. The good news is with our money raised we are getting one heck of a sports training facility in Vanier to recruit with. I would attend a college based on that walkway out to the field alone. Of course TCU sits a spot in front of Kansas State, but check who is near the bottom of the list! Kansas State FB Glenn Gronkowski declaring for NFL Draft

The tweet says it all, and I think we can probably concede that if Daddy Gronk says it's happening, it's happening. After earning All-Big 12 accolades last season, Gronkowski was largely supplanted by Winston Dimel this year. We can argue about the reasons, but the effect is clear: Glenn sees no reason to stay in Manhattan another year now that he has his degree. It was widely speculated that Gronkowski was leaving Manhattan, but most assumed it would be via transfer. That he's going to the NFL is a mild surprise, but not a huge shock.

Bryce English to transfer from Kansas State

In a situation which is terrible for everyone, freshman DL Bryce English has decided to transfer from Kansas State. For the Wildcats, this is bad because English was set to move onto the line next fall and looked every bit like a major contributor. For Bryce and his family, however, this is absolutely terrible. We wish Bryce, his father, and the rest of his family the best. This is one situation where the only acceptable emotion is sadness. Beat cancer.

Burns also CBS First-Team All-American

cbssports.com

Two NCAA-recognized All-America teams have been announced. Morgan Burns has earned the first-team nod at kick returner in both now, picking up the honor from CBS Sports this morning to go along with Tuesday's USA Today award. For those keeping track, there are 12 recognized selectors, and the player receiving the first-team honor from more of those selectors than anyone else is the consensus All-American. Burns is now a third of the way there, and that's assuming he only has one other player to compete with. (This was incorrect. The NCAA only recognizes five selectors, none of whom have announced their selections yet -- the AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and Walter Camp. However, by way of comparison, no player last year was chosen as a first-team All-American by both USA Today and CBS without receiving consensus accolades from the five recognized selectors.) In other words, young Mister Burns' post-season is getting real.

Kansas State safety Kaleb Prewett arrested on minor charge

Early Sunday morning, starting (but injured) K-State safety Kaleb Prewett was arrested by Riley County Police for underage drinking. It's a relatively minor and piddling charge, but it's not the sort of thing which will endear the star recruit to Bill Snyder, either. Prewett, 20, is one of the highly-touted Blue Springs Three, coming to Manhattan along with linebacker Elijah Lee and running back Dalvin Warmack. It's been a rough year for the trio. Lee has been hampered by injury, while Warmach has had trouble getting on the field. Prewett started the season as Dante Barnett's partner at safety, and performed well through most of the season before a terrible outing against Texas Tech. He did not play against either Kansas or West Virginia, although no injury has been disclosed.
