The brief exhibition season kicks off tonight as the Wildcats test out all the new players on the roster with a test against the Division II Emporia State Hornets. In contrast to the usual state of things, Emporia State is still paying attention to football, while we're actually sort of yearning for the respite of something other than football to get started.
The game: Kansas State hosts the Emporia State Hornets in the opening exhibition game of the 2015-16 season. K-State's played Emporia Sstae 22 times. Twenty of those have been actual regular-season contests, back in the good old days; K-State leads the series 12-8, plus a 2-0 record in exhibitions. The teams last played in 2012, with the Wildcats winning by 30.
Odds: As this is an exhibition, there's no line for the game..
Tipoff: Friday, October 30 at 7:00pm CT, Bramlage Coliseum (12,528) in Manhattan, Kansas.
Tickets: Tickets are available from the ticket office for $10, $20 for chairbacks.
Television: FS Kansas City at 7:00 CT with Ben Boyle and Stan Weber. If you are not in Kansas, Kansas City, or very close to the state of Kansas, I would NOT count on your sports package allowing you access to the FSKC feed, but feel free to give it a try.
Radio: K-State Sports Network, with Wyatt Thompson and Matt Walters. In Kansas City. There is no satellite broadcast.
Online: Video streaming via both KStateHD.tv, with the radio team, and ESPN3, with the television team. Subscription IS required. Free audio streaming is also available via (Gamecenter. Live stats via (Gamecenter.
