One important note: there are a couple of games you'll see listed as "ASN". That's the American Sports Network, which is an over-the air ad-hoc network airing mostly on Sinclar-owned CW and MyTV affiliates. For the purposes of most of you reading this, the only station likely to be involved is KMTW in Wichita, but if you've got a desire to watch any or all of the two ASN games listed you might check your local guide.

The big games are pretty obvious. Tonight, we'll probably all be locked in on Abilene Christian-Georgia Southern, the official kickoff of the 2014 FBS season. The big early game on Thursday is Texas A&M at South Carolina, although there's some FCS upset potential over on the Big Ten Network with Eastern Illinois visiting Minnesota. Later in the evening, we get Rutgers-Washington State to cap off the first major day of football this fall.

Friday is relatively light on options early, with BYU-Connecticut being the marquee. Later, though, three networks come out swinging with the final three games of the night. Although most people will instinctively tune into the battle of Colorado, don't sleep on that UTSA-Houston game. It could be very, very pointy.

Saturday, things really get cooking. We start with the Penn State-UCF game over in Dublin The early shift
