The latest Wildcat football commitment is in, and this one comes from that barren wasteland known as Lawrence, KS.
Scott Frantz, a 3-star, 6'5" 285lb offense lineman from Lawrence Free State HS, announced his decision via Twitter earlier today:

According to his Rivals profile Frantz also holds offers from, among others, Missouri, Miami (FL), Iowa St., KU, and Purdue.
The commitment from 5th ranked player in the state* pulls K-State back ahead of KU in in-state recruits, and to do so with a guy from KU's own backyard has to hurt their ego some.
As a Junior at Free State, Frantz was 1st-Team All Sunflower League, and HM All-State.
ESPN's Insider scouting report ($) paints a picture of a tough, smart, and aggressive young man and indicates that he will be effective in both run and pass protection and has the potential to bypass a red-shirt and go right into the depth chart as a solid back-up:
Bottom Line Frantz is a very physical run and pass blocker; if a red shirt year is not deemed necessary, he could provide depth at the tackle spot.
This marks another solid pick-up for the K-State coaching staff, who have now started a trend of making some early noise in recruiting, especially among the regional kids. Though, as with any commitment this time of year, we have a long wait to see if the staff can hang on to him, especially with pressure from bigger schools.
His Hudl highlights:
*As per Scout preseason rankings, who have him rated higher than Delton. Rivals lists him as #6, ESPN does not have him ranked in any way.
