A linebacker, a fullback, and two receivers round out K-State's list of recruits for 2014.
Justin Hughes
Outside Linebacker
Tucker High School (Tucker, Georgia)
6'1", 205 lbs, 4.62 40
A two-star prospect recruited by Andre Coleman, Hughes may help fill a need at the OLB position for K-State, although with Elijah Lee and D'vonta Derricott in the mix, he may not be the star of the bunch. His highlight reel shows good speed on the outside and good closing speed. Hughes was not heavily recruited, but Syracuse also showed significant interest, and some recruiting experts still had him listed as a possible Orange signee.
Watch Hughes force a fumble at about the 0:07 mark:
Winston Dimel
Fullback
Manhattan High School (Manhattan, Kansas)
6'0", 223 lbs, 4.69 40
Yes, that Dimel. At heart, Dimel was probably always a Wildcat, but he did get serious looks from other schools, including Arkansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. An all-state first team player, Dimel was a standout on both sides of the ball in Manhattan, and hopes to be used as more than just an occasional ball carrier for the Cats.
Dimel takes one to the house, very slowly:
Dominique Heath
Wide Receiver
Hopewell High School (Huntersville, North Carolina)
5'9", 170 lbs, 4.42 40
Heath, a 3-star player out of the Charlotte area, will probably be used as a sort of combination running back and slot receiver. (Think Tavon Austin. Maybe). He showed enough speed and playmaking ability to be named MVP at the National Underclassmen Combine, and was offered by nearly ever D-1 school he showed interest in. Not yet 18 years old, Heath is also a standout baseball player and track star at his high school.
Heath makes an insane catch and then cuts across half the field for the score:
Tyler Ahrens
Wide Receiver
Tivy High School (Kerrville, Texas)
6'4", 190 lbs, n/a 40
As a junior at the high school made famous by Johnny Manziel, Ahrens caught passes for 1261 yards and 11 TDs. Only lightly recruited, Ahrens is a two-star prospect who could give K-State's receiving corps an immediate boost, especially with his impressive height and route-running skills.
In his highlight reel, Ahrens shows off his skills as a possession receiver.
NEXT: It's Jon's turn, with four more commits.
