The Lady Cats sail down the Kaw to take on the eternal nemesis, and unlike when the men hook up, this game's just about meaningless for anything other than pride.
The Opposition
The Opposition
Coming off a horrible loss to West Virginia on Saturday, the women will hope that meeting a team more on their level will have a better result. The young Lady Cats, still growing, could really use a Showdown win. Unfortunately, accomplishing that might be tricky. The Jayhawks grabbed a seven-point win at Bramlage exactly one month ago.
The game: Kansas State (10-16, 4-11) visits Kansas (12-15, 5-10). K-State leads the all-time series 62-45, and hold a 26-25 edge in Lawrence. Deb Patterson is 24-14 against Kansas.
Tipoff: 7pm CT at Allen Fieldhouse (16,300) in Lawrence, Kansas.
Television: Nate Bukaty and Brenda VanLengen have the call on Jayhawk Television Network, which in Kansas City is channel 1310 on Time Warner, channel 913 on Comcast. It's channel 22/2022 on Cox in Manhattan and Wichita. If you're in Topeka, you're apparently out of luck. Elsewhere in Kansas, consult the JTV affiliate guide, but be sure to make sure your town doesn't have "*Men's Basketball Games" in the last column. If you're not in Kansas or the KC Metro, you're stuck with streaming.
Radio: K-State Sports Network, with Brian Smoller and Claire Coggins.
Online: There actually IS video streaming for this one, on ESPN3. Audio streaming via K-State All-Access, live stats via Gametracker.
