KSU MBB: Karapetyan granted permission to transfer

The move means three open scholarships a year from now.

In a move that surprises nobody, Kansas State Wildcats redshirt freshman forward Jack Karapetyan has "voluntarily withdrawn from the team," according to the Topeka Capital-Journal's Ken Corbitt. He will seek transfer opportunities.

Facing an uphill battle for playing time from the get-go, the 6-7 forward also battled injuries and never seriously figured into long-term plans for the Wildcats.

His departure means head coach Bruce Weber and his staff now have three open scholarships available for the 2015-16 season after Nino Williams and Thomas Gipson exhaust their eligibility.
