Kansas State vs UCLA: Bowl Game Injury Report

The final game of the season, and for some player career happens tonight. Let's take a look at how injuries will impact the matchup.

An unfortunate season ending leg injury to Dylan Schellenberg means Baylor was his last game.

The first top 15 match-up in Alamo Bowl history is a big one, and both teams have suffered from injuries that have hurt their depth. The Wildcats, in particular, are very thin at safety after having both starter, and back-up suffer season ending injuries. UCLA also has some injuries in the secondary which could make covering Tyler Lockett and Curry Sexton and even bigger challenge. It will be interesting to see which team steps up and is able to overcome the challenges brought on by injuries.

Kansas State

Travis Britz, DT

Britz suffered a ankle/lower leg injury during the West Virginia game and has not played since then. He may be able to go against UCLA, although it would be very surprising if he did. Will Geary will likely replace Britz in the starting lineup.

Kyle Klein, WR

Kyle's out with for the season, most likely medically red-shirting.

Charmeachealle Moore, LB

After suffering an undisclosed injury early in the season, Moore has sat out most of the season and is seeking a medical red-shirt.

Travis Green, S

Green suffered a season ending injury during the Texas Tech game, and while nothing has ever been confirmed regarding his injury it's believed to be some sort of knee injury. Green also made headlines this week by announcing on twitter his intention to transfer and play his senior season at a different school. Much speculation has centered around Kaleb Prewett's growth and the belief that he will be the starter next season. I wonder though if it has anything to do with the way Kansas State handled his injury, since earlier in the year Green tweeted some information regarding his injury that suggested he may have been able to come back sooner. Either way Green has played his last game as a Wildcat and we wish him all the success going forward.

Terrell Clinkscales, DT

Clinkscales had some legal issues surface between the final game against Baylor and the bowl game, however, he seems to have worked those out and is expected to be available for the Alamo Bowl.

Dylan Schellenberg, S

Dylan suffered a bad leg injury during the Baylor game and had to be carted off the field. As a result of his injury the Baylor game will be Dylan's last as he is official out for the bowl game. It's an unfortunate injury as Schellenberg had been playing better of late. Look for Nate Jackson to get the start in place of Schellenberg, however I would expect to see more Kaleb Prewett as well.

Brett Hundley, QB

Brett has a sore finger, but that is not expected to hinder him, and he is probable for the bowl game.

Priest Willis, DB

Willis suffered a head injury during the USC game and did not play against Stanford. He is currently considered questionable for the bowl matchup.

Sam Handler, WR

Handler suffered a late season knee-injury and is out for the remainder of the year.

Kenny Orjioke, LB

Orjioke suffered a torn ACL and is out for the remainder of the season.

Austin Roberts, WR

Roberts suffered a mid-season knee injury and has missed the remainder of the season.

Randall Goforth, DB

Goforth suffered from a separated shoulder early in the season that required surgery and has missed the remainder of the season.

Steven Manfro, RB

Manfro injured his knee back in September and has missed the entire season.
