#24 Nate Jackson |
Position: Defensive Back Previous College: College of San Mateo (Calif.) Projection: Starter Status: On Scholarship |
Nathan Edgar Jackson (b. Feb. 6, 1992) is an athletic defensive back who transferred from the community college ranks in the spring of 2012. He redshirted a year ago and will compete for playing time in the secondary.
He had five tackles in the 2013 spring game, and four tackles and a 42-yard interception return in the 2014 game.
Jackson helped the College of San Mateo to a 7-4 finish in 2012 and registered nine interceptions during his two years there. He also earned all-conference honors at defensive back in 2011.
He prepped at Terra Nova High School in Daly City, Calif., and helped the team to earn a 9-4 record and a league championship as a senior. You can watch his highlights here.
Jackson is a player whom I thought would make an impact last season, but with three senior cornerbacks dotting the roster, the coaches elected to save him for this season and the next. That may prove prudent. I think he starts.
