Jesse Dejuan Mack (b. Oct. 2, 1993) is a JUCO defensive back we signed very late in the recruiting process who will help to bolster backfield depth. He redshirted in 2012 at a junior college, so he has three years to play three.
Mack played one season for Highland Community College under head coach Aaron Arnold, helping the team to earn a 6-4 record in 2013. He was ranked No. 12 among junior college cornerbacks by ESPN.
He came away with 42 tackles, two interceptions and five pass breakups, and returned an interception 29 yards against Butler, a season-long return for the Scotties that helped them to defeat the fourth-ranked Grizzlies 23-21.
Mack prepped under head coach Freddy Brown at Spartanburg High School, helping his team to go 5-3 in 2011.
He played quarterback throughout his high school career before switching to cornerback as a senior, a year in which he led the state with 17 pass breakups and recorded three interceptions. You can watch his highlights here.
