#72 Aderius Epps |
Position: Offensive Line Previous College: None Projection: Third-String Status: On Scholarship |
Aderius DeVell Epps (b. May 18, 1994) is a big offensive lineman who will continue to develop while backing up at one of the guard positions. After redshirting in 2012, he played in each of the final two games of 2013 as a reserve.
Epps was the lone high school offensive line signee in the 2012 class. Named to the Old Coach Texas Top 100 list, he also was rated the No. 87 player in the state of Texas by Old Coach.
Epps was a first-team all-district selection as a senior and was named honorable mention as a junior.
He also was a team captain as a junior and senior; led his team in pancakes, averaging five a game; was a four-year letterman; and earned a third-place finish at the regional power-lifting meet.
Epps also was a team captain on the basketball team. Rivals.com rated him a three-star player. Rivals' Brian Perroni also tabbed Epps as a sleeper among incoming Big 12 players and had this to say about him:
Though offensive guard Aderius Epps is on the short side, he plays with an incredible mean streak and could be a multi-year starter.
That might be a little bit ambitious, but it at least indicates there's some potential there.
