Big 12 Tournament Semifinals - game times, tv info, radio, streaming, odds and more

Thursday night provided the one surprise nobody expected: chalk.

Is Rick Barnes' seat still warm? A close loss to the Cyclones didn't really damage the Longhorns' at-large hopes.

Raise your hand if you expected the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals to play out the way they did. You. Over there. With your hand raised. You're a liar, and you should shamefully apologize.

While no individual game really defied expecations in a vacuum, it was the sum total which beggared belief. All four winners last night accomplished something which is hard to do under any circumstances: beating the same team three times in the same season.

In the main, they also did so in basically the same manner they'd already done. Baylor handled West Virginia with relative ease, winning 80-70. Oklahoma pantsed their in-state rivals, beating Oklahoma State 64-59. Texas gave Iowa State a hard fight, but fell in a close on, 69-67. And everyone had Kansas on potential upset alert against a scrappy Horned Frogs squad; the Jayhawks escaped with a 64-59 win.

But this is the Big 12 Tournament, and nothing ever goes as planned. So while each game adhered to expectations, the shock is that they all did, and that the Big 12 semifinals will include the four teams that were supposed to be there to begin with. In Kansas City, that qualifies as absolute craziness.
