In which OU gets its groove back, Drew and Ford continue to surprise, Iowa State beats down/scrapes by Texas and the Cats pretty much seal their NIT fate.

I don't have too much to say about the midweek action, considering the Saturday games already are over and K-State's home loss to West Virginia might have been the last one the Cats couldn't afford to lose.

Arizona, Long Beach State and Purdue all continued nice winning streaks in conference play, with the Boilermakers knocking off their second straight ranked opponent. Georgia and Texas A&M control second place in the SEC.

Texas Southern got back on the winning side in the SWAC with a thrilling triple-overtime road win at MVSU.

In conference play, OU gained some of its confidence back by setting a new Big 12 defensive scoring record against Tech, Iowa State survived a huge lead against Texas and KU just plain survived at TCU's high school gym.

Perhaps the most surprising win, in my eyes, was Oklahoma State over Baylor.

I figured this was about the time Travis Ford's team would give up the ghost and Scott Drew's would start rolling, but the leagues two worst coaches always find ways to surprise me.

Still major losers: Bradley, Nebraska-Omaha, Savannah State, UMKC and, increasingly, Pittsburgh, which lost its third in a row, this time to a pathetic Virginia Tech squad. Tennessee also lost, but it was at a formerly ranked team.
