Charles Jones (b. Jan. 20, 1994) is a versatile athlete who redshirted during the 2012 season. He will add depth to the running back position and look to contribute on special teams as a redshirt freshman.

Jones was a three-year starter who rushed for 1,767 yards and 22 touchdowns while hauling in 31 passes for 321 yards during his senior season at Mandeville High School. He was an honorable-mention all-state pick by LSWA.

Jones also was named the New Orleans Player of the Week following a 213-yard performance against Parkway, and he accounted for nearly 700 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns as a junior.

At K-State, he joins fellow New Orleans-area Wildcats Cornelius Lucas, Torell Miller and Daniel Sams. Michael Smith turned Louisiana into an intriguing pipeline for us before he left, with Judah Jones hailing from Shreveport.
