5 DAYS TO KICKOFF: Jonathan Coleman

In which BracketCat counts down the fifth day until kickoff with a profile of defensive back Jonathan Coleman.

Sorry, this would have gone live at the normal time, but SB Nation appeared to be down for maintenance last night and I couldn't get it scheduled, or even written, for that matter. Should be back on schedule tomorrow.

Bio

Position: Defensive Back

Previous College: None

Projection: Scout Team

Status: Preferred Walk-On

Jonathan Coleman (b. June 17, 1992) is a preferred walk-on defensive back from Ralph H. Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas, who enrolled early in the spring of 2010 and then redshirted in 2011.

He played in five games in 2012, including the first four, mainly on special teams, and registered three tackles.

Coleman played running back in high school and ran a 24.74 in the 200 meters at the Coppell Relays.

Coleman prepped under head coach Charles Heese at Poteet High School, where he was an honorable mention running back who once recorded a 300-yard game on 16 carries.

He also was an honorable mention pick in basketball, and an honor roll student who was involved in FCA and the student council. Here's some highlights of him in action. I expect him to maybe play on special teams, but that's it.
