Status: On Scholarship

Steven West (b. Nov. 13, 1992) is an athletic player who will add depth at wide receiver while contributing on special teams. He caught one pass for 8 yards for the White team in the 2013 spring game.

West grayshirted in 2011 and redshirted in 2012, so I imagine he's eager to see the field finally. Unfortunately for him, all we lost off last year's wide receiver corps was Chris Harper, so playing time could be hard to come by.

West caught 52 passes for 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior at Fossil Ridge High School, and had 52 catches, 852 yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season.

He was a first-team All-District 7-5A selection by Rivals.com in 2010 and a first-team All-District 5-5A pick by TexasHSFootball.com. You can watch his highlights here.
