Status: Preferred Walk-On?

Riley Galyon is a walk-on defensive back from Sterling High School who played in the 2013 Kansas Shrine Bowl.

Although some sources list him as a preferred walk-on, he was not listed with the other preferred walk-ons on K-State's Class of 2013 Signing Day page, which leaves his status a little uncertain. I'll list him that way, though.

Galyon played both ways last season for Sterling, starring at quarterback and defensive back for the surprising Black Bears, who finished 4-7, but made it to the second round of the Class 2-1A playoffs.

He led the team in rushing with 1,739 yards and 20 touchdowns on 295 carries, and threw for another 668 yards and five scores while directing Sterling's wishbone offense.

You can read a little more about Galyon here. I'd say he projects as a safety, but we're very deep at that position if you include walk-ons, so it could be a few seasons before he sees the field in a significant fashion.
