Demonte Hood (b. Aug. 20, 1993) is a raw, but ideally sized fireplug of a defensive tackle from Bowie High School.

Hood gained eight pounds during his redshirt season. He had 60 tackles, seven tackles for loss and two sacks in 2011, and he was a first-team All-District 4-5A selection. His film shows a recruit who is talented, but unpolished.

Hood looked pretty solid in the spring game, and I'm excited to see what he can offer. We won't be relying on him for too many snaps, but he provides depth at a minimum. If he is knocked out of the two-deep, then we'll be in fine shape.
