72 MINUS 40 DAYS TO KICKOFF: Aderius Epps

In which BracketCat counts down the 32nd day until kickoff with a profile of offensive lineman Aderius Epps.

Now that he's added more than 20 pounds during his redshirt year, Aderius Epps is starting to remind me of Keenan Taylor a little.

Aderius Epps (b. May 18, 1994) was the lone high school offensive line signee in the 2012 class, and he looks like he could be a pretty good guard for us in a few years. He redshirted in 2012 and is set to become a backup guard.

Named to the Old Coach Texas Top 100 list, he also was rated the No. 87 player in the state of Texas by Old Coach.

Epps was a first-team all-district selection as a senior and was named honorable mention as a junior.

He also was a team captain as a junior and senior; led his team in pancakes, averaging five a game; was a four-year letterman; and earned a third-place finish at the regional power-lifting meet.

Epps also was a team captain on the basketball team. Rivals.com rated him a three-star player. Rivals' Brian Perroni also tabbed Epps as a sleeper among incoming Big 12 players and had this to say about him:

Though offensive guard Aderius Epps is on the short side, he plays with an incredible mean streak and could be a multi-year starter.
