#78 Cornelius Lucas |
Position: Offensive Line Previous College: None Projection: Starter Status: On Scholarship |
Cornelius Lucas IV (b. July 18, 1991) is a big, big man. While that doesn't necessarily translate automatically into being a dominant offensive lineman, it sure doesn't hurt. Especially at left tackle.
Lucas broke out in a big way in 2012. After two seasons spent backing up the likes of Zach Hanson and Manase Foketi, with only meager playing time, he ascended as a starter on a Big 12 championship football team.
He showed us what an NFL-caliber left tackle looks like. This little-regarded two-star player found in Louisiana by Michael Smith has a serious chance to become Charlie Dickey's first league draftee since the coach's arrival.
Lucas was a postseason All-Big 12 honoree last season and a preseason All-Big 12 first-teamer this year. Now, if he can just fix that darn tell some people noticed in the Fiesta Bowl, he can really be something.
