#41 Logan Haug |
Position: Defensive End Previous College: None Projection: Scout Team Status: Preferred Walk-On |
Logan Paul Haug (b. Nov. 18, 1992) is a preferred walk-on from B&B High School, where he averaged 24.4 yards per game as a senior tight end in eight-man football. Tight end was the position he was projected to play for us.
That plan seems to have changed. He left the team briefly in the fall of 2011 to concentrate on his studies, only to return in the spring as a redshirt freshman. In the meantime, he shed 20 pounds and converted to defensive end.
He has the chops to play the position, although he didn't get any playing time in 2012. At B&B, he had 64 tackles, eight sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as a defensive end.
B&B won the 2010 state title, and Haug was named first-team all-state and the 2010 Eight-Man Player of the Year.
He was an honorable-mention tight end across all high school classifications, too. And he runs a 4.7 40-yard dash.
All in all, pretty swell for a walk-on. He'll probably only ever see time on the scout team, but you never know who the next Ryan Mueller or Jordan Voelker will be. It seems there's always a guy like that on the roster. Maybe it's Haug.
