Chris Brown is the ultimate mystery recruit. He was not listed by K-State as part of its 2013 signing class, nor does GoPowercat.com list him as an official part of the class, but he shows up in the Rivals database as a commitment.

What that means is that his status is highly uncertain. He might be on scholarship ... or not. He might be a late arrival ... or not. He might make grades ... or not. But if he arrives, he's big enough to provide at least a body.

Even his class is uncertain. Some sources have him as a redshirt sophomore. But he only is listed on Scottsdale's 2011 roster as a sophomore, which seems to suggest Brown took last season off and blew a redshirt in so doing.

Thus, I have listed him as a redshirt junior, having played two community college seasons and taken a third off.

Fun fact: Brown's JUCO mascot is the Fighting Artichokes. That's just cool.
