#82 Michael Mann |
Position: Wide Receiver Previous College: None Projection: Scout Team Status: Walk-On |
Michael Tyler Mann (b. Dec. 27, 1993) is a walk-on wide receiver born in Fort Worth who changed plans at the last minute after having had his heart set on walking on at TCU. And if he's good enough for Gary Patterson...
Well, I don't know what caused Mann to change his mind, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth, I say.
A three-year starter for Aledo High School under head coach Tim Buchanan, Mann helped to lead Aledo to three straight state championships.
He is the Bearcats' all-time leading receiver with 2,303 career yards on 144 catches with 22 touchdowns. His best season came as a junior, when he caught 57 passes for 1,011 yards and 11 scores. He earned all-district honors.
He briefly switched to defensive back last season, but since he redshirted, that doesn't mean too much. Mann was back to playing wide receiver, where we are extremely deep and talented, in time for the spring game.
