Open Game Thread: K-State vs. Oklahoma, Game 3

The series is secure after last night's 5-1 stroll in the park, and now it's time to try and complete the sweep -- and get that mystical fortieth win.

Everything's going swimmingly. The BatCats are handlin' bidness, taking the first two games of the series against the Sooners' top two starters. K-State now has a full three-game lead over now-second-place Oklahoma State, and the only remaining Big 12 Conference game is today's finale between the Cats and Sooners, so KSU will win the conference by either 2.5 or 3.5 games, and suddenly Oklahoma can't do any better than a tie for third.

WOW.

More importantly at this point, though, is this: a win today will be the 40th win of the season, which is generally looked upon as a pretty good argument for hosting the regional. So as awesome as Friday's win was, and as satisfying as Saturday's was... Sunday's game actually does have a hint of criticality to it.

Game time has been pushed up to 11am from a scheduled 1:30 start. Hopefully, this won't completely confuse cable providers and DirecTV. Blake McFadden (5-2, 3.93) is slated to start for the Cats; at the time of this writing, OU's starter is undetermined.

Chew 'em up, Cats. Let's get that forty.
