Who: K-State (9-3) vs. George Washington (11-1)

When: December 31, 2013 | 2:00 p.m. CT

Where: Manhattan, Kan. | Bramlage Coliseum (12,528)

Media: 1350 KMAN | FSKC (and other FSNs)

The Wildcats face a tougher challenge than they expected when this game was scheduled, as the surprising George Washington Colonials invade Bramlage. The Colonials, led by former Vermont guru Mike Lonergan, already sport wins over Creighton and Maryland and have vaulted into contention for the Atlantic 10 championship. Longeran formerly coached at Vermont, overseeing the Catamounts' noted stretch of dominance in the America East; before that, he spent a dozen years at Catholic, winning a Division III title during his tenure.

George Washington is led by Maurice Creek, a graduate transfer from Indiana the Cats are going to have to contain to win today. Creek is putting up 16.3 a game and shooting 50 percent from the field, 47 percent from the arc. This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams; the Colonials won in Washington way back in 1940, while K-State has grabbed wins the last two Decembers, one in Manhattan and one in Washington.

In addition to FSKC and FS Midwest, the game should be available on FS West, FS Arizona, FS Indiana, FS North, FS Oklahoma, FS Southwest, FS Wisconsin, FS Ohio, FS South, Sun Sports, Root Sports Northwest, and Root Sports Rocky Mountain.

A win today would go a long way toward securing an NCAA bid should K-State lurch to a .500 conference record, so let's go Cats!
