Go Service! Beat Service!

It's a quiet weekend, with only two televised football games today unless you have the mythical wonder of ESPN3.

Hunter Martin

Not a lot of action, but if Army-Navy's not an excuse for an open thread, nothing is. There's also today's D-2 and D-3 semifinals, and the last three FCS quarterfinals. (NAIA's off this week.)

Last night, in the snow, Towson upset Eastern Illinois 49-39. If Eastern Washington defeats Jacksonville State this afternoon, Towson will travel out west next week to play on the FIELD OF BLOOD. If not, Jax State will end up traveling to Towson. Later tonight, New Hampshire visits Southeastern Louisiana. Assuming North Dakota State wins, they'll host the winner of that game next week.

West Chester and Lenoir-Rhyne are already at it in the early D-2 semifinal. At 2:30, Northwest Missouri State hosts Grand Valley State in the other; winners meet next week in Florence, Alabama for the championship.

Likewise, Mount Union and North Central are in action at Alliance; the winner will face the survivor of this afternoon's game between Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mary Hardin-Baylor in the Stagg Bowl, D-3's championship game.

As for the main event today, I have only four words:

GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!
