Remember when I said this?
Did you know?: The Bears, when they were still in D-II, were conference-mates with the Dakota schools. Including North Dakota State. Uh-oh.
And then the Cats lost. I bet you probably hope I never mention anything like that ever again.
The Golden Eagles won their season opener by claiming the battle of Tulsa in a 74-68 win against, uh, Tulsa. The all-time series between K-State and Oral Roberts is knotted at two games a piece. ORU comes off a 20-15 campaign in which they suffered a one-point loss to the Oklahoma Sooners before finishing third in the Southland Conference. The Golden Eagles were then knocked out of the conference tournament in the first round; an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament followed, where they reached the quarterfinals before bowing out to eventual runner-up Weber State. All five ORU starters were around last year, so there's experience on the floor, and especially after Friday's debacle it would be a serious mistake to assume this is going to be a W for the good guys.
On the bright side, ORU was never in a conference with La Salle or anything.
Let's get it going, Cats.
