College Football Viewing Guide/Open Thread: Week 9

We're solidly into the second half of the 2013 season at this point. Two big games today will further define the Big 12 race, and whether the Big 12 will still have two undefeated national contenders.

A full slate of Big 12 games. Further sorting in the Pac-12. A chance for Missouri to put a death grip on the SEC East.

Wait, what?

Sure enough, the Missouri Tigers take on South Carolina, at home no less, with a chance to take a two-game lead, with tiebreakers, over the rest of the SEC East. Out west, Oregon takes on UCLA in a big Pac-12 matchup. For a rundown of the rest of the relevant national action, check out SB Nation's excellent viewing guide. For you degenerate gamblers, here are this week's picks, as well as Bill Connelly's F+ picks.

The full Big 12 schedule is below. K-State's open thread will go live one hour before kickoff.

Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State, Ames, Iowa, 11:00 a.m., FSN: Iowa State was ambushed last weekend in Waco, while the Pokes out-uglied TCU. This will probably be a low-scoring ug-fest, too, but I expect the Cowboys to win.

Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech, Norman, Okla., 2:30 p.m., FOX: Time for Texas Tech to show whether it's for real.

KU vs. Baylor, Lawrence, Kan., 6:00 p.m., ESPNU: Hide yo kids, hide yo wife. Take it away, Antoine Dodson.

Texas Christian vs. Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, 6:30 p.m., FS1: If Texas gets this one, the Longhorns will likely be 6-0 in conference play heading into the final stretch of Okie State-Texas Tech-Baylor.
