After a week off thebowl picks are back
Fiesta Bowl: K-State- With a W last night the cats are firmly in the drives seat to win the Big 12
For the rest of the Big 12 picks hit the jump
Cotton Bowl: Texas- the early December is looking like it could be a big one
Alamo Bowl: West Virginia- offense looked challenged as they were only able to put 31 on Maryland... Maryland.
Buffalo Wild Wings: Oklahoma- the sooners have problems and will be a middle of the pack team the rest of the way
Holiday: Oklahoma State- backup JW Walsh was decent last week but it is still to be seen if he or Wes Lunt can live up to OSUs terrific QB play of the past 5 years
Texas Bowl: TCU- The frogs are going to struggle to live up to the record and stats of the past few years
Pinstripe Bowl: Baylor- Baylor is going to score a lot of points this year, but they are also going to give up a ton of points.
Home for the holidays: Texas Tech, Iowa State, KU
Well after a thrilling victory our Kansas State Wildcats are now on the inside track to win the Big 12, and my bowl pick for them reflects that... West Virginia showed that their offense is in fact stoppable as their defense showed that they will be at best average. The mountaineers may have the offense to win the Big 12 but if they really want to make noise in this race their defense needs to be much better, just ask Baylor and every one of Mike Leach's Texas Tech teams... Texas and Oklahoma State both had byes this week as they square off against each other in their Big 12 openers in a matchup that may very well decide who takes second place in the Big 12 this year. It will be very interesting to see if how Texas does against the cowboys prolific now run oriented offense and if Longhorns offense can be as dangerous against Oklahoma State as it was against Ole Miss... TCU was decent against Virginia, but the frogs should have scored more poi ts on a middle of the pack ACC team. I am not at all a beleiver in TCU as contender but well have to wait a few more weeks to see them against a good Big 12 team as they look for revenge against SMU... Baylor escaped Monroe, Lousiana as the upset minded warhawks came up short, Baylor for the second strait year has proven it is able to put up points in large chunks, but their defense looks just as bad as last years and may very well give up 100 points to the mountaineers next week in a game with an over/under of 150... Texas and Iowa State will square off next week after byes but at this point I just can't see either getting to a bowl this year... KU lost to Northern Illinois. KU has won their last game for a year.
