Joseph Bonugli (b. April 4, 1991) was rumored to have suffered a potential season-ending injury last spring, which was pretty tough luck considering he already used his redshirt year in 2009. He ended up missing the entire season.
If that redshirt was due to injury, he has a chance at being granted an NCAA medical hardship waiver, but it's far from a given. For that reason, one hopes he can bounce back and have a production last three years of his career.
Bonugli was rated the 50th-best safety in the class of 2008 by Rivals.com and amassed 194 total tackles during his last two seasons in high school. If healthy, he looks to have a solid chance at entering the three-deep at safety.
