Ethan James Hammes (b. Nov. 9 1990) punted two years for Butler County under head coach Troy Morrell, but I couldn't find any statistics for him from last season and he's listed as a sophomore on K-State's roster.
Ipso facto, I surmise that he redshirted in 2011, possibly due to an injury, and it's more accurate to that he "was a punter on the roster for two years for Butler County under head coach Troy Morrell."
But in 2010, when he was active, Hammes earned honorable mention All-Jayhawk Conference honors and was a third-team Region VI punter in 2010.
He averaged 38.2 yards on 49 punts, including a long of 60.
He helped Butler to advance to the national championship game and finish No. 1 in the final regular-season poll.
Among Hammes' highlights were averaging 40.4 yards on five punts, all five of which were downed inside the 20-yard line, in a 28-0 win over Hutchinson, with a long punt of 52 yards.
In high school, Hammes punted and kicked for the Nemaha Raiders under head coach Todd Leonard. He also played running back and linebacker.
He earned all-league honors as a punter as a sophomore, junior and senior, while he was an all-league running back all three years, as well. Hammes averaged 38.5 yards per punt during his career..
He also lettered in basketball and track and field, and was a four-year honor roll student. He also was a member of the National Honor Society and SADD.
