#48 Glenn Gronkowski |
Position: Fullback/Tight End Previous College: None Projection: Redshirt Status: On Scholarship |
Glenn "Gronk" Gronkowski (b. March 25, 1993) is the brother of current NFL players Dan (Browns), Rob (Patriots) and Chris (Colts) Gronkowski, His other brother, Gordie, also played pro baseball in the Angels’ organization.
He was listed as a fullback in the 2012 recruiting class information released by K-State, but he is described as a tight end on the official roster. My guess is he'll be somewhere in between. Think of him as an old-school H-back.
As a wide receiver at Williamsville North High School, Gronk caught 53 passes for 762 yards and 11 touchdowns during his 2010 senior season before grayshirting in 2011 to gain weight for his conversion to his new position.
He also had two passes for 90 yards; recorded eight interceptions, returning two for touchdowns; recovered two fumbles, returning one for an 85-yard touchdown; and recorded 43 solo tackles.
This jack of all trades also punted for a 35.8-yard average and handled all of his team's kicking duties.
Gronkowskit was named co-Offensive Player of the Year in Section VI Class AA North, and totaled 125 catches for 2,076 yards and 23 touchdowns during his high school career. I think he's going to be quite the player for us.
