Tramaine Thompson (b. April 10, 1990) took a while to come back from his 2010 midseason injury during the 2011 season, but by the end of the season, he again was one of our two best wide receivers.

Granted, part of that was because Tyler Lockett himself was out with an injury by then, but let's not diminish Thompson's contributions. His long TD catch against Iowa State in particular was vital to the season's success.

Plus, I think he was the only wide receiver in the Cotton Bowl who didn't drop an easy-to-catch pass, a seemingly infectious phenomenon in that particular contest.

Although he likely has been surpassed by Chris Harper as an overall wide receiver, and his speed and upside are nowhere near as high as Lockett, Thompson's still clearly one of our top three wideouts and very important to us.

Given his nine catches for 147 yards and a touchdown in the spring game, it appears those facts remain true.
