K-State Football
K-State named senior quarterback Collin Klein, senior linebacker Arthur Brown, offensive lineman B.J. Finney and safety Ty Zimmerman team captains for the 2012 season. No surprises, but the impressive part to me was how many players received votes.
K-State picked up a commitment from Klein Collins (Spring, TX, near Houston) offensive lineman Chance Allen. If you're not already following Wescott Eberts for college football recruiting news, you should be.
K-State Basketball
Bruce Weber announced that Alvin Brooks III has joined his staff as an assistant coach. Brooks was an assistant at Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas, for the past two seasons. He's also a Houston native (H-Town!) and should bring solid Texas ties in recruiting.
PLAYOFFS?!?!
On-campus playoff games aren't dead yet, but now there's a possibility that each conference could be tied to a specific bowl game for purposes of the semifinals. Just wake me up when something gets decided.
WAC Evacuation
Morse already covered this, but the WAC's survival is uncertain at this point.
SB Nation YouTube
If you haven't already checked it out, you should take a look at SB Nation on YouTube. There is a lot of great regular content there with Shutdown Fullback (Spencer Hall and Jason Kirk on college football), Bomani and Jones (Bomani Jones), Full Nelson (Amy K. Nelson) and much more. At some point, we're hoping to get some BOTC content on there, and we'll let you know if that happens. But for now, there's still plenty for any sports fan to watch.
