K-State Basketball

K-State heads to Sprint Center for this week's Big 12 Tournament as a sleeper pick to cut down the nets in KC.

In case you haven't seen it yet, don't miss this article from The Mercury about Jamar Samuels and the time he spent in Manhattan.

Big 12 Tournament

The Big 12 coaches are split on whether the basketball tournament should remain in Kansas City after Missouri leaves the conference this year. Bill Self considers KC more Kansas-oriented, anyway:

"Kansas City is split, but Kansas City is more of a K-State-KU town than a Missouri town, at least the way we see it. If you’re going to poll the people that are living in that area, the 30-mile radius or whatever, I think you’d have far more K-State and Kansas people than you would Missouri people."

For his part, Scott Drew thinks the former South schools would have more of an advantage if the tournament were in Dallas, because they would have more fans in the stands. In other words, Scott Drew has no idea what he's talking about. Here is an actual photo of the American Airlines Center during the Big 12 Tournament (note: not an actual picture of the AAC during the Big 12 Tournament, but a good approximation).

College Football Playoff

Big 12 interim commissioner Chuck Neinas is the latest person to throw his hat in the ring for a college football playoff.
