Positives:

Alabama moved one win closer to a first-day bye in the SEC Tournament.
- Long Beach State moved one win closer to a perfect regular season in conference play.
- West Virginia moved one win closer to not falling deeper into the bubble, although nothing is certain yet.
Negatives:
- Charleston Southern advanced to the Big South semifinals, where it then was whomped thoroughly by No. 1-seeded Asheville, which apparently is desperate to go back to Dayton, Ohio.

George Washington and UMES continued their losing ways as the conference regular season neared an end.
- Loyola Chicago and Southern Illinois saw their seasons come to a blessed end with losses in their respective conference tournaments' first rounds. Actually, this is a positive. No more bad basketball from them!
- North Florida also lost in its first conference tourney game to complete a perfectly mediocre 16-16 season. Thus ends the college career of Andy Diaz, brother to our own Adrian Diaz.

UTEP abhors success. Despite wins over Memphis and Southern Miss, the Miners will amount to nothing because they can't beat teams like Rice at home.
